Many writers have written about the beauty of Le Marche (the Marches). The words of the italian writer Guido Piovene in his book Viaggio in Italia, enhance its landscape writing the following:… “Marches are the Italian landscape more “typical” and, like Italy with its landscapes and works of art, is a distillate of Italy… I totally agree.

The Marchigian cuisine

The cooking traditions of Marche reflect its geographical position, history and culture. The tastebuds have the privilege to savor charming “terra e mare” culinary delights of all kinds and the region is a link between north and south also in the gastronomical sense. Rustic, elegant, seasonal, authentic, genuine. Those are the adjectives that come immediately to mind thinking of the classic Marchigian cuisine. And the wines are are in theme with the region and its gastronomy: high quality, less known and quite economical, starting with the regions main wine, the crisp and fresh, verdicchio, that is considered to be one of Italy’s greatest white wines. Buon appetito!
